DESCRIPTION:\nThe Digital Afterlife - A Look at Digital Property and the Impact on Client Portfolios \n \nSpeaker: Lee Poskanzer\n \nTechnology has made our lives easier. We and our clients are doing so much online that we now take these activities for granted. It’s become a part of our daily lives. Email has replaced the US postal service. We visit friends through social media. Look for love on apps. We bank, invest and buy cryptocurrency.  And we even run online businesses that others depend on and generate income.  \n \nHowever, with all the benefits of today’s technology, it’s added new challenges and complexities for those in the wealth and T&E communities…and their clients. Unlike physical property, digital assets have their own unique and problematic traits which make them susceptible to being lost, hidden, inaccessible, and destroyed. And, they have the additional burden of being bound by new and rigid governing authorities such as privacy laws and custodian Terms of Service Agreements that can prevent custodians from disclosing account data, logs, and contents.\n \nToday, the average client has over 200 accounts and that number grows every day. And the types of holdings are quickly changing which makes  the job of preparing and managing estate and wealth portfolios harder.\n \nThe Digital Afterlife presented by Lee Poskanzer, CEO of Directives Communication Systems will address the many facets of digital assets that impact planning and administration strategies. Areas to be examined include client online behavior and their expectations, innovations such as Crypto, NFTs and blockchain assets, digital content provider (website and app owners) culture, and regulations and policies that effect portfolio management.  We’ll also look at how innovation can quickly and dramatically change even the best laid plans.  This program is for anyone that wants  to get an edge and understand how to handle  digital property.\n ------\n\nMonday, December 13, 2021 - The program is 90 minutes.\n \n11:30 a.m. - IN-PERSON NETWORKING\n \nNoon - IN-PERSON Lunch & Educational Program \n \nNoon - VIRTUAL PROGRAM\n ------\n\nRuth Eckerd Hall\n \n1111 McMullen Booth Road\n \nClearwater, FL 33759\n ------\n\nThank you to our Sponsor!\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ------\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nThe PCEPC's Social Committee has selected [Silver Santas](https://blspinellas.org/Silver-Santas)  as the #CouncilInAction holiday season community involvement project!\n \nPinellas county-based Silver Santas is a grassroots project that provides gifts during the holiday season to isolated and low-income seniors through providers such as assisted living communities, senior housing (HUD) communities and at home by Guardians or Professional Caregivers.  \n \nMonetary donations taken at www.blspinellas.org\n \nAmazon wish list can be found [here](https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3E7W6L6DHW3JU)\n \nThank you for being a Silver Santa!\n
